This spring, I’ve abandoned fantasy for an array of other genres. Check out my recent reads!

A French Semi-Final
A favourite bake for my GBBO semi-final entry
A Showstopping Final
Wow. What a year! I know that every year Paul always says, “These are the best bakers we’ve had in the tent,” but I think this year it was true for the final.
Éclairs Minus the Elegance
It’s pâtisserie week! This one is always a favourite, just behind bread week. I’m always impressed by what the bakers come up with, from flavors to textures to presentation, not to mention that French bakes are notoriously hard.
Biscuit Week – A Snap
Biscuit week! I’m not keen on biscuits and prefer American cookies. But for me, the bake along is the perfect opportunity to try new things, so biscuits it is!
Layers of Butter
The last time I made puff pastry was almost five years ago. That was pre GBBO obsession, before I identified as a baker. After watching all the seasons of GBBO (no shame), I like to think I know what I’m doing now.
Libraries are Lungs
I just finished The Paris Library, and it was an absolute delight. It was a novel built on my favorite things: character development and a love for books. The story follows a young woman, Odile, through WWII during the Nazi occupation of Paris; this narrative is the bulk of the novel, but it appears alongside the coming of age story of Lily, a girl from small town, middle of nowhere Montana.
Layered Decadence
The semi-final!? Already!? What a way to finish up the season — high demand bakes in terms of skill and appearance. I think I fit the bill for this one, and I’m SUPER proud of it.
