For what do you hunger?
The heatwave wasn’t as extreme in NI, and temps in Armagh only ever rose to about 28ºC. There was also a constant breeze, so it never felt as hot as the thermometer indicated. I saw the heatwaves as an opportunity: a chance to read outside and deepen my tan!

I know I’m a bit late to the party, but I finished Where the Crawdads Sing on the flight back. Delia Owen’s novel is beautiful. The descriptions are *chef’s kiss.*
The Calling of the Clans
I’ve finally finished Diana Gabaldon’s Drums of Autumn. The end was a long time coming, and when I got there I was disenchanted with the plot. But the characters pulled me through like they always do.
The Connectedness of Stars
Raw and real, Girl Made of Stars faces questions of consent, victim blaming, and sexual assault. So it’s a hard to write about, but I think it’s an important one.

My Girl Scout cookies arrived! I’m a sucker for these, have been since… oh, gosh, kindergarten, the beginning of my own Girl Scout days.
A Bride? Me?
Some days, I forget I’m getting married. But then there are weekends like this past one, where the fact I’m getting married in a few months just kind of hits me in the face, and I get excited and nervous all at once.
