The Great British Bake Off started last week! Last year I “cheated” and made coffee cake, so this year I decided I’d better do things right.

Beach Day
Tim and I made the most of our last summer weekend. We packed the car last Sunday morning and headed north to the Indiana Dunes.
Who needs Chipotle?
Tim and I aren’t big on eating out. We believe we can cook just as well as, or better, than most restaurants. Last week, in the mood for burritos, we got out the crockpot and had Chipotle for dinner.

I’m holding onto the last bits of summer. So I scooped up a pound of probably the last of the Georgia peaches, ate most of them with the juices running down my chin, and then used the rest to make this delight of a bake.
Big Learning in a Big City
Annnnnd… we’re back in Salt Lake! Now that I’ve told you all we’ve eaten, here’s all we did.

Our most recent read was Howard Pyle’s The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood. It’s good to return to a classic every now and again, but this one was a lot of starts and stops. We were both expecting a fluid, quick-moving story, but we were sorely disappointed.
